Hostinger renewal price: why it goes up and 5 ways to pay less
Hostinger's low price covers your first term only. What the renewal really costs, whether a coupon helps, and the honest ways to keep your hosting bill down for years.
Why the renewal is higher
Every big host prices this way. The sale price is an introductory price for the first term you buy. When that term ends, the plan renews at the standard rate, which is often two to three times higher. It's not a hidden fee; it's shown in the cart, usually in small print under the price.
Does a coupon lower the renewal?
No. WEBHOST2026 and other referral codes apply to new purchases. They take 20% off the first term, not the renewal. Anyone promising a "renewal coupon" is usually describing one of the methods below.
1. Lock in the longest term you can
This is the biggest lever. On a 48-month term you pay the sale price, minus the extra 20%, for four years before the renewal rate ever applies. On 12 months you hit it after one.
2. Renew for a long term, not monthly
Renewal prices also get cheaper per month on longer terms. When renewal time comes, pick 24 or 48 months rather than letting it roll month to month.
3. Check for a renewal offer before it renews
Hostinger sometimes shows a discounted renewal in hPanel or by email in the weeks before your plan expires. Turn off auto-renew a few weeks early, check the billing section, and renew manually if there's an offer.
4. Don't pay for more than you use
If you bought Business but run one small site, renewing on Premium or Single saves real money. Check your actual storage and traffic in hPanel before you renew.
5. Move to a new plan as a new purchase
Buying a new plan with a coupon and migrating to it is allowed, and on a small site the migration is quick. It takes some work and you need to move the domain, so only do it if the saving is worth an afternoon.
Renewals in your currency
Renewal prices are set per country store, so they differ from the USD figures. Your country page explains the local currency and tax, and the cart always shows the renewal rate before you pay.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Hostinger renew at?
It depends on the plan and term. The renewal price is shown in the cart when you buy, and in hPanel's billing section afterwards. Expect two to three times the introductory price.
Can I turn off auto-renew on Hostinger?
Yes, in hPanel under Billing. Your plan keeps running until the end of the term you paid for.
Does Hostinger warn me before renewing?
Yes. Hostinger emails renewal reminders before the term ends, to the address on your account.
